Top Tips for Dealing with Ticks:

Dry clothes first then wash. 10-15 minutes on HIGH in dryer will kill ticks.
Spray repellant on your shoes/socks
Spray inside surfaces of pants and shorts with repellant.
Check “below the belt” for ticks in private areas while sitting on the toilet.
De-tick with duct tape (before they latch on)- helpful for dogs too.
Carry pointy tweezers, a zip lock bag and rubbing alcohol.
Tuck in your shirt tail when adult ticks are active, but tuck pant cuffs all the time
Keep leaf piles for jumping in the middle of the yard
Stay in the middle of the trail and avoid brushy areas and tall grass where ticks can catch a ride.
Don’t stress if the head breaks off during removal.
