New York State DEC Licensing

We sell New York State hunting and fishing licenses in accordance to the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Please visit the DEC's website directly or stop into the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours to purchase hunting and/or fishing licenses.

Hunting season is upon us! Please know that we are only able to issue licenses for individuals that are physically present in the office. We are not able to give your friend's/spouse's/sibling's/parent's/etc. license to anyone other than them. Thank you for understanding, and best of luck out there!

Starting 8/1/24, licenses will be issued on plain paper. See the DEC website below for more details.

Hunter Education Course

The NY Hunter Education course (Hunter Safety course) is required to purchase a hunting license in New York. The course covers the necessary safety techniques and responsibilities that a hunter must know when using a gun, muzzle loader, crossbow or bow to pursue wild game.
